Transitional Housing Opens

Posted on Sep 27, 2021

On Thursday, September 23, 2021, St. Mary’s Franciscan Shelter held a ribbon cutting event to formally open their new Transitional Housing Apartments.

Located on the grounds of its existing emergency homeless family shelter, St. Mary’s converted a former schoolhouse into four transitional housing apartments. These apartments will provide families the time (18-24 months), safety, and resources to find long-term or permanent housing.

The ribbon cutting event include remarks, a blessing of the building by clergy, a ceremonial ribbon cutting, and tours of the unoccupied apartments.

A longtime dream in the making, families have already moved into the apartments and more are being screened for admission.

Here are some photos of the ribbon cutting event!
